๐ Western Digital $WDC sinks 16%, SandDisk $SNDK drops 11% โ guidance misses the sky-high bar
Both WDC and SNDK beat Q4 earnings expectations this morning, but forward guidance fell short of the sky-high bar Wall Street had set โ WDC had already rallied +202% YTD and SNDK had surged +469% heading into the reports, so just "beating" was not enough. On top of that, analysts flagged potential delays to the planned HDD/Flash business separation and signs that cloud providers are shifting capex toward AI accelerators over traditional storage. Micron ($MU) is falling ~6% in sympathy today. Not financial advice. Did the memory trade get too far ahead of fundamentals, or is this a dip worth buying?
