Anthropic released Claude Science in beta this week โ a purpose-built AI workbench for scientists and pharma researchers that pulls common lab tools into one place, produces auditable artifacts, and supports multi-step research pipelines. It runs on existing Claude models including Opus 4.8, no special access required. Early adopters at Allen Institute and UCSF Brain Tumor Center are already speeding up genomics and brain tumor analysis with it. Could this be the AI tool that finally sticks in the lab?
