It's a big retail earnings gauntlet this week: Home Depot ($HD) reports Tuesday, Target ($TGT) Wednesday, Walmart ($WMT) Thursday โ and the backdrop is ugly. Consumer spending unexpectedly dropped last month, consumer discretionary is one of only two S&P 500 sectors in the red for 2026, and gas prices are still running ~$1/gallon above pre-Iran-war levels. Walmart has crushed it relative to peers (+130% vs. HD +2%, TGT -41% over 5 years) but even the big W could face guidance pressure. Which retailer are you most nervous about this week?
