๐ง Estrogen-only hormone therapy linked to 35% fewer Alzheimer's hallmarks in major autopsy study
A Stanford Medicine study of 21,462 women found that those who used estrogen-only hormone therapy after menopause had 35% lower odds of Alzheimer's disease markers in their brain tissue at autopsy, and 39% lower lifetime odds of a dementia diagnosis. The findings were published August 12 in Neurology and also showed lower amyloid buildup in blood and spinal fluid of therapy users. Researchers caution this is an association, not proof of cause โ but the scale is striking. Could this reshape how we approach menopause and long-term brain health?
