โ๏ธ An Alien Comet Is Racing Through Our Solar System and China Just Photographed It
3I/ATLAS โ only the third interstellar object ever confirmed passing through our solar system โ was captured on camera by China's Tianwen-1 Mars orbiter from about 30 million km away as it streaked past Mars. First spotted on July 1 by a NASA-funded telescope in Chile, the comet's glowing coma and tail carry ices and chemistry that formed outside our solar system โ material that never circled our Sun.
