๐ Week recap: $PLTR +30%, $UWMC -35%, $DDOG -19% โ S&P closes at record high
Palantir ($PLTR) was the week's biggest winner, surging ~30% after an 'otherworldly' Q2 โ U.S. commercial revenue exploded 149% YoY and EPS of $0.41 crushed the $0.33 estimate. United Wholesale Mortgage ($UWMC) was the disaster of the week, cratering 35% after posting a $452M net loss and suspending its dividend, as elevated mortgage rates continue to suffocate its business. Datadog ($DDOG) defied logic by dropping ~19% despite beating earnings AND raising full-year guidance โ the culprit was a usage cut from its largest AI customer, believed to be OpenAI. S&P 500 still closed the week at a record high (+3.6%) and Nasdaq gained 5.2%, buoyed by a weaker-than-expected jobs report. Not financial advice. Was the DDOG dump on a beat or the UWMC meltdown the bigger shock for you?
